By Carl Sharp

For Love of the Game: Likable film for Costner as a player with a twenty year baseball career who looks back on the last 5 years of his life throughout an eventful end of season game. Successfully played for megastar value and emotion, however goes into additional innings for no obvious rationale, leading us to an obvious finish. Cast includes Kevin Costner, Kelly Preston, John C. Reilly, Jena Malone, Brian Cox, J. K. Simmons, and Vin Scully. (137 minutes, 1999)

Darby's Rangers: Garner does well in this WW2 action film as the leader of attack troops in North Africa and Italy, concentrating on relations amid his platoon and their beach romances. Cast includes James Garner, Etchika Choureau, Jack Warden, Edward Byrnes, Venetia Stevenson, Tarin Thatcher, Peter Brown, Corey Allen, Stuart Whitman, and Murray Hamilton. (121 minutes, 1958)

Hold Back Tomorrow: This is another of Haas' oddball cheaply made dramas. This one is about a condemned killer who weds a gal on the day before he is put to death. Cast includes Cleo Moore, John Agar, Frank de Kova, Harry Guardino, and Jan Englund. (75 minutes, 1955)

The Age of Innocence: In 1870s NY, well-bred youthful guy (Day-Lewis), who plans to wed well bred youthful female (Ryder), is infatuated by infamous beauty (Pfeiffer) with a notorious background and a self sufficient soul. Sumptuous adaptation of Edith Wharton's Pulitzer Prize novel in reference to censored sentiments in a close minded world. Cast includes Daniel Day-Lewis, Michelle Pfeiffer, Winona Ryder, Richard E. Grant, Alec McCowen, Geraldine Chaplin, Mary Beth Hurt, Miriam Margolyes, Sian Phillips, Michael Gough, Alexis Smith, Norman Lloyd, Jonathan Pryce, Robert Sean Leonard, and Carolyn Farina depicted by Joanne Woodward. (133 minutes, 1993)

Alfred the Great: This tale of youthful leader of 9th-century England can't choose if it's a serious historical journal or wide swashbuckler and triumphs in neither. Cast includes David Hemmings, Michael York, Prunella Ransome, Colin Blakely, Julian Glover, and Ian McKellen. (122 minutes, 1969)

Murderous Maids: A new take on the infamous 1933 murder case that rocked most of France. Christine Papin (Testud) and her younger sibling Lea, like their mom before them, work as house maids. However, Christine's simmering resentment of her mom, her circumstance, and her administrators starts to wear on her in assorted damaging ways. Cast includes Sylvie Testud, Julie-Marie Parmentier, Isabelle Renauld, Jean-Gabriel Nordmann, and Marie Donnio. (94 minutes, 2000)

Down to You: Prinze and Stiles futilely try to buddy us up by talking straight away into the camcorder, clarifying how their once idyllic college romance went bust (albeit not as bust as the film). In some way, this film manages to find room for subplots in reference to a Television show and a friend who has a try as an adult-film entrepreneur with a sort of bohemian knowledgeable porn actress. Cast includes Freddie Prinze, Jr., Julia Stiles, Shawn Hatosy, Selma Blair, Zak Orth, Ashton Kutcher, Rosario Dawson, Henry Winkler, and Lucie Amaz. (91 minutes, 2000)

Killpoint: A boring, one dimensional action film with cop Fong and agent Roundtree on the track of gun runners. This film is action packed and brutally vicious. Cast includes Leo Fong, Richard Roundtree, Cameron Mitchell, Pile Perforate, and Wish Holy day. (89 minutes, 1984)

Each Dawn I Die: Journalist Cagney is framed, and sent to the penitentiary where he meets a tough inmate, Raft. There is excellent acting all around. Cagney hits a white-hot summit with his role, however last half of film becomes outrageously implausible. Music score by Max Steiner. Cast includes James Cagney, George Raft, George Bancroft, Jane Bryan, Maxie Rosenbloom, Stanley Ridges, Louis Jean Heydt, Abner Biiberrman, John Wray, Victor Jory, and Thurston Chamber. (92 minutes, 1939)

St. Petersburg Bowl Tickets

By David Griffith

The St. Petersburg Bowl will play it's second annual college football game on December 19, 2009 in St. Petersburg, Florida. After debuting in 2008 as a new NCAA sanctioned FBS bowl, the game is played at Tropicana Field, known as the home of Major League Baseball's Tampa Bay Rays. The most likely teams to play in the St. Petersburg Bowl are from the Big East and Conference USA conferences, although there are contingencies for the Sun Belt conference as well. The bowl was approved in the same year as the EagleBank Bowl.

This year's game will be televised on ESPN and will be one of the first bowl games of the year, sharing opening day with the New Mexico Bowl, which will kick off only a few hours earlier. Fans in the Tampa and St. Petersburg area will be able to see a FBS college bowl game right in their back yard, and the inaugural bowl featured local team South Florida winning over the Memphis Tigers. While some fans think the bowl game system should be replaced with a playoff system, for now the bowl system allows teams to enjoy a postseason.

The St. Petersburg Bowl is played at Tropicana Field, which is primarily a baseball park, which means that seating can be awkward. This is often the case with multiple-use stadiums, but a new Rays ballpark may be in the works, and if so, the game will likely be moved. However, it is not uncommon for football games to share time with baseball, and cities must strongly consider multi-use stadiums in order to fully leverage the tax dollars spent on sports stadiums.

ESPN owns several bowl games, including the St. Petersburg Bowl, which means they organize and promote the bowl game. Along with this bowl, ESPN owns the aforementioned New Mexico Bowl, the Armed Forces Bowl, The Maaco Las Vegas Bowl, the Hawaii Bowl and the PapaJohns.com Bowl. ESPN has taken on these bowl games and done well, which leads one to think they may continue to take on bowl games in the future.

The first ever St. Petersburg Bowl pitted nearby South Florida against the Memphis Tigers, in which USF star quarterback Matt Grothe threw for 236 yards in a win over the Tigers, 41-14. Grothe went on to garner the Most Outstanding Player award for the game, throwing three touchdowns in the rout of Memphis.

If you are excited about attending the St. Petersburg Bowl and are looking for tickets, be sure to scope out all of the best prices at one time using an online tool like TicketZinger.com, and also check out online selling sites like eBay. You can sometimes find good deals on places such as Craigslist, but be very careful. If a deals sounds too good to be true, or has a 'story' that sounds too good, it probably is.

What Is A Single Action Ignition System For Cigar Lighters?

By Dave Sabot

Whether you choose to purchase one of the high quality Lotus lighter models available or decided to go with another brand, the type of lighter and its style are of immense importance to your smoking enjoyment. You will find a very wide range of lighters available, from wick type lighters to disposables and torch style lighters. However, one of the most unique innovations to hit the market is the single action ignition system Purchasing a lighter with this type of ignition setup can add convenience to your smoking, as well as great style.

What is a single action ignition system on a lighter? Why do you want one of these types? Most lighters are dual action, meaning that it takes at least two steps to ignite the lighter. Consider the traditional wick type lighters. You have to flip the lid manually, and then strike the flint wheel to create a spark. Other lighters, even torch lighters, share this problematic design situation. However, a single action system offers quite a few benefits to you. What will you find?

First, a single action ignition offers convenience. In essence, you simply work the ignition button or wheel and the lighter's lid moves aside and the flame is lit, with a single motion. This is certainly more convenient than having to do both steps on your own. It can also help to ensure that you can light your cigar, pipe or cigarette, even if you have something in your other hand. Traditional dual action lighters force you to use two hands, or become involved in some rather dexterous activities with a single hand. With a single action lighter, a single click or flick is all that is required to ignite your lighter.

You will find that this style of lighter offers considerable benefits over those of yesteryear. Advancements in lighter technology have enabled smokers to attain more convenience, as well as better quality. For instance, most lighters that use the single action ignition system are torch lighters, which offer better performance over traditional lighters.

It can be quite simple to locate the right single action lighter for your needs. A quick perusal of lighter manufacturers online will give you access to a wide range of different styles and brands. Of course, you should consider the duration of the warranty, as well as the price when purchasing such a lighter.

A Beginning Carper's Guide to Carp Gear

By Tony G. Stevenson

There are many different types of freshwater fish that are very popular with anglers. Once that receives great attention in Europe, but hasn't caught on so much in the States, is carp. Carp fishing is still a very popular hobby, and one that is even growing in the U.S. There is one thing that carp anglers have in common regardless of where they are from: the need for good carp fishing tackle and equipment.

One of the most important parts of getting good gear is obviously the fishing rod. A good carp rod will be medium action, and long - generally at least six feet long, although longer can be better. This gives the strength and flexibility needed for carp fishing.

Right after the rod you need to consider the reel. All good reels are open faced, not closed faced, and can hold a great deal of line. At a very minimum, you should be able to spool 150 yards of 12 lb test. More is better, but 150 should be your minimum standard.

Obviously you'll want to know what kind of bait to use. While carp will hit about anything, the preferred bait seems to be sticky smelly stuff. Think of the kind of bait that catfish would like, and you're on the right track.

If you're a beginning carp angler, you may have heard of pods. Pods are basically rod holders that many carpers use to get more than one line out there while waiting for the carp to bite. This isn't a tool that beginning anglers need to worry about, but if carping becomes an obsession, it's something to look at down the line.

And of course there's the all important fishing line. Kevlar fishing line is a popular choice among any anglers, although in the end the main concern is getting fishing line that is 12 pound test or better.

While advanced fishing tackle and gear is going to cost more, the good news is that beginners can get started for pretty cheap. While fishing might not be the least expensive of hobbies, learning to carp fish is a deeply rewarding hobby that provides hours more entertainment than a movie or night out to an expensive bar.

Every angler knows you have to have the right gear to get the job done. If you want to really enjoy carp fishing, get the right tackle and gear early on and you'll be glad you did.

How To Buy A Hot Dune Buggy.

By Peter Pulaton

So you've decided to buy a dune buggy. You have had a dune buggy before, you're new to the sport, and it looks great. It's time to get involved and buy yourself a dune buggy. But before you get out there and buy there's a few things you need to consider.

The first is to decide if you should build or buy a dune buggy. Now for many that's just not an issue. Building a dune buggy is a long process that requires skills, and lots and lots of time. And you don't take it on lightly. Dune buggies are like any other vehicle, if you decide to build one you really need to know what you're doing. Don't try to build your own buggy unless you're confident.

Otherwise you need to find a good dune buggy for sale and buy it. There's lots of dune buggies for sale, but not all of them will suit your needs. So here's a few more things for the dune buggy buyer to think about.

Firstly decide what your needs are. Where are you going to drive your buggy and what do you want it to do? For example there are many who just want a hot buggy to cruise the streets. That's fine, but if you you've got different needs to someone who wants to do some serious sand driving.

So the buggy you buy needs to be street legal. No reason to buy a buggy then find out that it's illegal to take it onto the road. And you won't need four wheel drive either, so rule that out. No need to spend money on something you'll never need.

How many people will you need to carry? Now you're not going to be taking the whole family shopping in your buggy, but there are still plenty of people who love to take along someone else. Maybe you'd like to take your girlfriend with you on a sand dune weekend. No use in a single seater. And you can buy buggies that take 4 people, though there's not many.

What size do you want? This relates to what you want to do with your buggy, but there's some other factors involved too. How much storage space do you have? It wouldn't be the first time someone bought a buggy then found they couldn't fit it into the garage.

And have you got a trailer? If not then you have to buy one but if you already have a trailer then the buggy you buy has to fit, or else you have to buy another trailer.

And you need to find out more about dune buggy lingo. Like many sports there is a language all it's own and to fit in you need to learn it. What is a sandrail? What is a Baja Bug?

And finally, learn as much as you can about motors and how they work. Whether you want to or not you'll be doing plenty of dirty hands on work. Even if you've decided that buying a buggy is the way to go for you because you couldn't build one, be prepared for plenty of time spent with hot oily hands. Driving a buggy is a heap of fun, but it comes with it's own work, and if you're new you need to understand the basics of mechanics, and be prepared to get your hands dirty and learn fast. That's fun too, but it's all part of being a buggy driver.

This is, I'm sure, a little simple to someone who's owned buggies for years, but for the beginner who wants to buy their first dune buggy that's the basics. You need to do your homework and find out what your needs are and do some serious learning. Get started learning but don't buy until you know what your needs are.

And start saving for your first dune buggy today. Whilst it's a relatively cheap form of motor sport it's not entirely cheap. There are some great places to buy cheap dune buggies online, I have them on my website. But you need to get those dollars in the bank. Get started.
