A Few Short Hollywood Movie Reviews To Check Out

By Mari Gonzales

It wasn't that long ago that a trip to the corner video shop was the most convenient way to get a movie. As technologies have advanced, downloading dvds off movie download sites is becoming very common. Following is a list of a few movies that you can get using a movie download site.

Lost Horizon: James Hilton's classic tale in reference to 5 Individuals tripping into strange Tibetan land where well being, harmony, and longevity reign. After being shown in revised reissue prints for years, this classic has been repaired to its primordial magnitude-albeit few scenes are still missing, and are signified by discussion only, depicted with stills. Cast includes Ronald Colman, Jane Wyatt, John Howard, Edward Everett Horton, Margo, Sam Jaffe, and Isabel Jewell. (132 minutes, 1937)

Doulos The Finger: Delightful round-the-globe venture based on the real tale of a l6-year-old who cruises to every conceivable port. The movie was generated by Gregory Poke and filmed on location. Cast includes Joseph Bottoms, Deborah Raffin, John McLiam, and Dabney Coleman. (105 minutes, 1974)

The Eel: A businessman viciously kills his spouse after finding that she has been cheating on him. 8 years later, he is paroled from penitentiary, and can only connect to his pet eel, since it cannot betray him. Then he saves a female who has tried suicide after a poor relationship. Cast Koji Yakusho, Misa Shimizu, Fujio Tsuneta, Mitsuko Baisho, Akira Emoto, Sho Aikawa, and Ken Kobayashi. (117 minutes, 1977)

South Park: Bigger, Longer And Uncut: Our dynamic four are in top form in the first feature length film of the TV series. There is a new movie at the theater, a Terrence and Phillips film, and the boys are off to see it. When they arrive at the theater they can't get in because of the R rating. They overcome this obstacle by paying off a street drunk to get the tickets for them. This is the boy's first real intense introduction to foul language. They leave the movie fully trained in the new words, and use them whenever they can. This leads to outrage from the parents. Since Terrence and Phillip are Canadian, this ends with the US and Canada going to war.

Suicide Kings: A group of desperate kids kidnap a slick underworld mob boss and keep him prisoner to boost leverage in the kidnapping of Thomas' sibling. Although throughout one long day, the mobster Walken, in fine form measures up his captors and plays on their weaknesses. Well planned piece, with some excellent tale twists and first-rate acting jobs. Cast includes Christopher Walken, Denis Leary, Henry Thomas, Sean Patrick Flanery, Laura San Giacomo, and Brad Garrett. (106 minutes, 1998)

Rocky 5: Rocky Balboa is back at it in the 5th installation of this never ending series of fight films following the rags to riches hero's entire career. Cast includes Sylvester Stallone, Talia Shire, Burt Youthful, Sage Stallone, Burgess Meredith, Tommy Morrison, and Richard Gant. (104 minutes, 1990)

Above Suspicion: WWII is just starting. American newlyweds honeymooning in Europe are enlisted by the US government to carry out an espionage mission against the Nazis. Can the honeymooners succeed? Richard Thorpe. Joan Crawford, Fred MacMurray, Conrad Veidt, Basil Rathbone and others. (1943 Espionage)

Hook, Line ... Sinker: Conceivably ludicrous premise about allegedly dying man who runs up one hundred thousand in credit card debt. Even Lewis fans can be bored. Cast includes Jerry Lewis, Peter Lawford, Anne Francis, Pedro Gonzalez-Gonzalez, Jimmy Miller, and Kathleen Freeman. (91 minutes, 1951)

The Sinister Urge: Devoted cops Duncan and Moore set out to bash the "smut film racket," which is run by a brassy blond who inscribes with a 4-foot quill pencil. One of Wood's least known works illustrates with complete conviction how photographs of fat ladies in their underwear are the principal cause of adolescent delinquency. Cast includes Kenne Duncan, Duke Moore, Carl Anthony, Jean Fontaine, Dino Fantini, and Jeanne Willardson. (75 minutes, 1960)

See if "Film Rental" gets you to a good download site. If that phrase gets you nowhere, try another phrase. Try "Movie Direct" next.
