Who Will Be the NCAA Football Champs?

By Anthony Lagano

So, the majority of us get excited about the important games we play out of the conference, and others look forward to those big conference games. But then there's the minority that contemplate about January. I'll admit, I do it without fail.

Markedly since I cheer for a franchise who hasn't been victorious in a bowl game since 2006, whereas up until that, they had won five consecutively. But I still stand faithfully next to them, and the Giant 10 Conference.

So what will happen in the non-BCS championship games? I have no clue, I'll figure that out at some point this week or next. But as far as the BCS Bowl Games, here's what I believe is going to occur, and how it can be kept from taking place.

ROSE BOWL sponsored by Citibank (Pasadena, California) OSU Buckeyes vs (at) USC Trojans This match might easily be prevented. I predict USC to suffer defeat one game in the course of the season, as they usually do.

If they get past the Buckeyes on September 12, then they'll be okay. But look out for the Cal Bears. I still expect S.C. will victory the Pac-10, lately becoming known as the "Pac-1." The Buckeyes play the men of troy at home in September, where they'd much rather be than Pasadena, mere miles from the Los Angeles Coliseum. But look out for that November seven matchup, in Pleased Valley.

Needless to say, the last time the Bucks traveled there, they blew out the Lions 37-17. But they need a win, notably if they go down to USC in September. If they might loss the Trojans in September, and the Lions in November, they might be headed for the National Title. And the same goes for USC.

Tostitos FIESTA BOWL Oklahoma Sooners vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish One issue might preclude this contest, 10/17/09. That marks the date of the Red River Rivalry between the Sooners and Longhorns.

The victor of that, which I definitely expect to be Texas, should pretty much breeze to the National Championship. Nonetheless.. keep an eye out for the Oklahoma St. Cowboys. Notre Dame's return to triumph should begin hitting big strides this season.

They have a tremendously qualified franchise, and a number thirteen preseason status. Assuming they lose to USC, but trounce their 84 other enemies (haha), they should secure a nice position in the BCS at year's end.

BCS National Championship Game sponsored by Citibank (Pasadena, Ca) Florida Gators vs the University of Texas Longhorns The Gators. Almost every person chooses them to end up in Pasadena on January 7th, led by one of the top players of our generation, Tim Tebow. They have several obstacles in the course of the season.. but every person is awaiting their October 10 matchup, at LSU. That and the Florida-Georgia event on Halloween are the major challenges for the Gators, in addition to whoever they play against in the SEC Title.
