African safari vacations are popular right now. They're so popular that you'll find many travel agencies and companies offering packages designed to provide tourists a taste of African safari adventure. These package tours are accompanied by experts.

If you choose to go with one of these African safari vacations, you'll mostly stay in lodges and camping grounds. Don't worry though -- hot showers will be available. There will also be a cook in the tour who'll prepare your meals and barbecues.

Kenya is one of the main destinations for this type of vacation and a beach holiday could be combined with an African safari. The country has 40 National Parks and game reserves. One of the most spectacular is the Kimana Game Sanctuary, which is located at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Two other popular national parks in Kenya are the Mount Kenya National Park, which is a rich rain forest, and Masai Mara, which consists of stretching plains. If you happen to go on one of the African safari vacations in Kenya, your guide will drive you and the other tourists either in 4x4 vehicles, open back trucks or mini buses.

If flying is your thing and you want to see the landscapes from high above, there are African safari vacation packages that include flying in a small plane. You'll see giraffes, leopards, crocodiles, gazelles, zebras, hippos and lions during your African safari adventure in Kenya.

If you want to see a variety of landscapes -- wetlands, open grassland, semi-dessert, old forest -- then an African safari vacation in South Africa is the perfect vacation package for you. If you want to explore on foot, car or light aircraft, go on an African safari vacation in South Africa's Phinda region.
