Condensed Movie Reviews

In the past you had to go to a store if you wanted to rent or buy a movie. You can now save a trip to the video store and download movies right off the internet. You can get virtually any movie you want with a good movie download site. Here are some examples.

Last Summer in the Hamptons: An self conscious youthful film megastar Foyt shows up in the summer society of East Hampton, Long Island, and gets to be engaged with the numerous show people who contain a circumscribe of buddies-lovers-companions. Cast includes Viveca Lindfors, Jon Robin Baitz, Savannah Boucher, Roscoe Lee Browne, Diane Salinger, and Kristoffer Tabori. (105 minutes, 1995)

Deliverance: This is an excellent re-creation of the Dickey novel of 4 Atlanta businessmen who get more than they can handle throughout a weekend canoe trip. McKinney and Coward are 2 of the most horrifying film scoundrels in history. The "Dueling Banjos" scene is very memorable. Film debuts of Beatty and Cox. James Dickey adjusted his own novel, and appears in the film as a sheriff. Ed O'Neill appears as a freeway watcher near end of film. Cast includes Cast includes Jon Voight, Burt Reynolds, Ned Beatty, Ronny Cox, Billy McKinney, Herbert "Dude" Coward, and James Dickey. (109 minutes, 1972)

Diggers: Set in 1970s Long Island, film concentrates on 2 generations of, clam diggers who are trying despondently to sustain their way of life and admiring in a town that might be getting ready to pass them by. Low-spending limit check out the changing ways of tiny-town America brags a desirable cast although is less than gripping-unless you dredge clams, obviously. With its Television-amiable factors this might have been more practical as a succession guide. Marino who plays Lozo inscribed and co-produced this film. Cast includes Paul Rudd, Lauren Ambrose, Ron Eldard, Josh Hamilton, Sarah Paulson, Ken Marino, Maura Tierney, Shannon Barry, and Andrew Cherry. (87 minutes, 2007)

Bordertown: Fine drama of abnormal triangle in a border town restaurant, with Davis as the flirtatious spouse of Pallette with plans on attorney Muni. Her overwrought scene on the witness stand is not forgotten easily. Used as structure for later They Drive By Day, however more earnest in tone. Cast includes Paul Muni, Bette Davis, Eugene Pallette, and Margaret Lindsay. (90 minutes, 1935)

A Good Woman: Ill-imagined rendition of Oscar Wilde's Woman Windermere's Fan filmed few times across the years, set in Italy instead of England and updated from the 1890s to the 1930s. A number of Wilde's British characters now are Americans; one of them is Mrs. Erlynne a sorely miscast Seek, a bankrupt adventuress who shows up in Amalfi and decides to seduce very wealthy, recently wedded Robert Windermere Umbers. Cast includes Helen Seek, Scarlett Johansson, Milena Vukotic, Stephen Campbell Moore, Mark Umbers, Tom Wilkinson, and Diana Hardcastle. (93 minutes, 2005)

D2: The Mighty Ducks: Hockey player Gordon Bombay is out for the year with a knee injury. Surprisingly he is given the job of head coach of Team USA for The Goodwill Games coming up. Many of the players are former Mighty Ducks players. Can they come together to pull off a big upset and win the world championships?

Cheyenne Autumn: Spreading, choppy, although amusing John Ford Western, his last in regards to Cheyenne Indian tribe and its eventful voyage back to primordial settlement after being resettled by the government. This is Controller Ford's first film in Remembrance Valley. Avoid City pattern with Stewart as Wyatt Earp was cut after exclusive involvements. Cast includes John Ford, Richard Widmark, Carroll Baker, Karl Malden, Dolores Del Rio, Sal Mineo, Edward G. Robinson, James Stewart, Ricardo Montalban, Gilbert Roland, Arthur Kennedy, Patrick Wayne, Elizabeth Allen, Champ Jory, John Carradine, Mike Mazurki, and George O'Brien. (145 minutes, 1964)

Absolute Power: A long time criminal on his final robbery stumbles into an incredible situation. He witnesses a rape-murder. What is even more incredible is that the murderer is none other than the President of the United States. Clint Eastwood, Gene Hackman, Ed Harris, and Laura Linney all star in this movie. (1997 Action-Drama)

The Last Time: Nation bumpkin Ferder is moved to the N.Y. home outside of a business where sales exec. Keaton prides himself on his take-no-captives strategies. He mentors the ignorant newcomer and ends up in bed with his attractive spouse. There's more going on than meets the eye albeit the setup is permanently evident. Little-group stuff, however Keaton is excellent. Cast includes Michael Keaton, Brendan Fraser, Amber Valletta, Daniel Stem, Neal McDonough, and William Ragsdale. (96 minutes, 2007)
