A Jumble Of Choice Cinematic Film Summaries

For a long time we have used the video store as one of our main ways to access movies. Now, with internet usage exploding, movie downloads are becoming very popular. Just about any movie every made can be attained through a movie download site now. Check out these samples.

King Kong: Addle-brained redo of 1933 classic has incredible potential however dispels all the mythic, bigger-than-life attributes of the primordial with idiotic characters and campy approach. Highly boasted visual effects which made a particular Oscar run hot-and-cold; genuine wonder is Rick Baker in a gorilla outfit. Additional footage amalgamated for network showing. Lange's film debut; Joe Piscopo has a tiny role; look quick for Corbin Bernsen playing a journalist. Cast includes Jeff Bridges, Charles Grodin, Jessica Lange, John Randolph, Rene Audry, and Julius Harris. (134 minutes, 1976)

The Mask: Mild mannered Stanley Ipkiss discovers an ancient mask. Once he puts it on he has incredible powers. This leads him to a crime spree, and a big increase in his self-confidence. When a big crime boss takes the mask from him, the town is in big trouble.

American Beauty: Lester Burnham has just about had it with his life. His family has become dysfunctional, and he hates his job. He finally quits his job, and begins to reinvent himself. He is right at the point where things are looking better and tragedy strikes.

Amistad: This film is based on the true story of an unsuccessful mutiny aboard a slave ship in 1839 bound for the US. The subsequent trial would put the entire foundation of the US legal system on trial. Three great men, abolitionist Theodore Joadson, lawyer Roger Baldwin, and former president John Quincy Adams fight for the freedom, and civil rights, of the African slaves.

Officer Michael is on the trail of a drug dealer and needs help. A friend gives him a dog that can sniff out drugs. His name is Jerry Lee. Jerry Lee has some issues though, and he only works when he is in the mood.

Fandango: Five college friends have one last fling before moving on to face Genuine Life. Based on Reynolds' scholar film Proof, and enlarged to characteristic magnitude under sponsorship of Steven Spielberg. Cast includes Kevin Costner, Judd Nelson, Sam Robards, Ditch Bush, and Brian Cesak. (91 minutes, 1985)

The Believers: Clutching, sincerely petrifying plot of widower and child who move to N.Y.C. and become engaged (in more ways than one) with cultish religion of Santeria, which believes in the sacrifice of youngsters. Well crafted film knows how to exploit its spectators however shows no identity either. Cast includes Martin Sheen, Helen Shaver, Harley Cross, Robert Loggia, Elizabeth Wilson, Lee Richardson, Harris Yulin, Richard Masur, Carla Pinza, and Jimmy Smits. (114 minutes, 1987)

Dealer Horn: Cast includes Pole Taylor, Anne Heywood, Jean Sorel, Don Horseman, Ed Bernard, and Pile Perforate. Comical redo of 1931 rendition has Taylor famed explorer and dealer of African interior, adjoined by youthful widow. Apparent use of stock footage and the truth that cast on no account leaves back-lot spoil all idea of believability. PG (105 minutes, 1973)

Any Given Sunday: Tony D'Amato, coach of the NFL Miami Sharks, is a typical old school coach. The new age players are all about the money and fame. He struggles with them to become a team, and make a run at a championship.
