Yoga Clothes: Wear Them Everyday

By Elizabeth Bailey

There are really no fixed rules as to what kinds of clothes you can wear when performing yoga exercises. Since yoga is a non competitive activity and you can do it at home if you want to, the guidelines are extremely relaxed when it comes to yoga clothes.

However, performing yoga exercises means you have to bend, stretch and twist your body a lot. To achieve maximum flexibleness of movement, you need to wear cozy yoga clothes. Good yoga clothes will give you liberty of movement.

Note that tight clothes will pitch your skin and impede your movements. Likewise, tight garments are very uncomfortable when you do stretching exercises. To help choose the right type of garments, here are some tips...

The Right Fit

Any sorts of clothes will not really look or feel good on you unless they fit right. If your yoga clothes are one size too little or too big for you, you won't really feel comfortable in them. To find the right yoga clothes, you want to take a little time to try these garments on before you purchase them. When trying on yoga clothes, try to perform some yoga positions and see if you can move openly.

However, if you should happen to live in a remote area and you don't have any choice except to shop on the web, make sure that you get the proper size of yoga clothes. You do not really want to end up returning the garments after you receive them. Note that most web stores charge the shipping and handling cost to their customers when they return or exchange goods.

Materials

When buying yoga clothes, pay close attention to the materials used. Yoga clothes that are made of spandex, elastic and light materials are perfect for maximum flexibility. Forget about those yoga clothes that are made of cotton. Cotton may feel cool on the skin but when you start sweating, the cotton materials of your garments will become heavy, sticky and uncomfortable.

Likewise, the feel of cotton materials will become coarse and heavy when wet so you can just imagine the pain that cotton will cause you. Note that cotton materials can also chaff your skin.

To attain maximum comfort, buy clothes that are made from sweat absorbent materials. Light and sweat absorbent yoga clothes are perfect for your routine.

Ask mates or your yoga instructor for recommendations as to which brands last the best and are the most comfortable and suitable for yoga before you spend too much cash on ill-fitting, indecorous yoga gear.
